Installer's take
Same fundamental install story as the A10 down-fire, scaled to 12". The 3.85" mounting depth keeps the motor out of conflict with the floor in a face-down build, and the 1.5" double baffle handles the pressure load directly behind the magnet correctly. At 29.5" wide and 6" tall this enclosure fits under the rear seat of most full-size crew cabs, measure from floor to seat cushion bottom before ordering, clearance varies by year and model.
The impedance selection at checkout matters. Dual 4-ohm wired parallel is 2 ohms, the safer choice for most amplifiers. Dual 2-ohm wired parallel is 1 ohm. Your amplifier must be explicitly rated for 1-ohm operation. The A12 is a 300W RMS driver. Do not exceed that rating chasing output. A clean 300W amplifier on this driver will outperform a clipping 600W amplifier every time.

Questions
What is the lead time and how does shipping work?
This system is assembled to order in Tullahoma, Tennessee. Allow 2–5 business days for assembly before it ships. Shipping to the lower 48 states is included. No freight charges added at checkout. You'll receive a tracking number when the order ships.
What is the advantage of the sealed down-fire enclosure design?
The sealed down-fire enclosure design enhances the bass response by creating a controlled environment for the subwoofer. This setup minimizes distortion and provides clean, tight bass. The down-fire configuration also protects the subwoofer driver from external damage and makes placement versatile, allowing it to be installed in locations like under seats or in tight spaces.
What is the mounting depth of the ARC Audio A12 subwoofer?
The ARC Audio A12 subwoofer has a mounting depth of only 3.85 inches. This shallow design makes it an ideal choice for vehicles with limited space, ensuring a seamless installation without compromising on sound quality.
What impedance options are available for the ARC Audio A12 subwoofer?
The ARC Audio A12 subwoofer is available in two impedance options: Dual 2 Ohm and Dual 4 Ohm. These options allow you to choose the configuration that best matches your amplifier, ensuring optimal power transfer and system performance.
Is the ARC Audio A12 Loaded Subwoofer Enclosure compatible with all vehicles?
The compact dimensions of the ARC Audio A12 enclosure make it compatible with a wide range of vehicles, from sedans to SUVs and trucks. However, it's recommended to measure the available space in your vehicle to ensure a proper fit before purchase.
Does the enclosure come pre-wired?
Yes, the ARC Audio A12 Loaded Subwoofer Enclosure comes pre-wired for your convenience. This means the subwoofer is already connected within the enclosure, simplifying the installation process and reducing the time needed to set up your audio system.
What materials are used in the enclosure construction?
The enclosure is constructed using high-quality materials such as MDF (medium-density fiberboard), which is known for its strength and acoustic properties. This ensures the enclosure is sturdy, minimizes unwanted vibrations, and delivers consistent bass performance over time.
How does a sealed enclosure differ from a ported enclosure?
A sealed enclosure like this one is designed to produce tight, accurate bass with minimal distortion. It is ideal for music genres requiring clarity, such as rock, jazz, or classical. In contrast, a ported enclosure is tuned for louder, deeper bass, which works well for genres like hip-hop or electronic music. The sealed design of the ARC Audio A12 prioritizes precision and clarity over sheer volume.
