A sealed enclosure for two 8″ subwoofers, CNC cut from 3/4″ Langboard Elite MDF on our ShopSabre routers. Each driver gets its own isolated chamber of 0.40 cubic feet, 0.80 cubic feet total.

Chambers

Sealed builds get one individual chamber per driver, so the two 8s do not share air. The quoted 0.40 cubic feet is per chamber, not the total. Each chamber has its own terminal cup, so the two drivers wire independently without internal splices you did not make yourself.

Construction

• Material: Langboard Elite MDF, 3/4″ (18mm). 48.5 lbs per cubic foot, 200 psi internal bond, 410,000 psi MOE.
• Cutting: CNC cut on ShopSabre routers, then assembled by hand in Tullahoma, Tennessee.
• Joinery: dado interlocking, internally braced.
• Baffle: 0.75″ single baffle.
• Terminal cups: ABS and carbon fiber composite, recessed mount, stainless hardware, copper ring terminals. Two independent cups, pre-wired with 12-gauge OFC.
• Finish: Dark gray trunk liner standard, plush black available.

Whether it suits your drivers

A sealed 0.40 cubic feet per driver sits in the middle of the recommended range for most 8″ drivers, neither undersized nor oversized. The 11.5″ max mounting depth is the spec worth checking first: most dual 8″ sealed boxes are built around shallower drivers, so stepping up to a higher-excursion motor is where fitment usually fails. Check your driver’s published mounting depth before ordering.
