The Micro Series exists for the space a standard subwoofer box will not go: behind the seat of a single cab, under a rear bench, in the shallow well behind a hatch. It is a line of sealed cabinets cut to shallow-mount drivers, and it starts from a plain admission. A compact box only works when the driver is compact too, so every Micro cabinet is designed around one named shallow-mount subwoofer rather than a size class. The internal volume, the baffle cutout and the bracing are solved from that driver's published Thiele-Small parameters, which is why the model table names the driver next to every cabinet.
That matters because most shallow drivers ship with no recommended enclosure at all. They work in a sealed box of roughly the right volume, and roughly is the problem. Too much air and the cone loses control as excursion rises; too little and it cannot move freely. The Micro Series settles the question at the cabinet, so a Wavtech thinPRO, a JL Audio TW3, an Alpine RSW or a ResoNix GUS lands in the volume it was designed for, not an approximation of it.
The construction is different from the rest of the line. Micro cabinets are stack fabricated: horizontal layers of Langboard Elite MDF, each CNC cut to the internal profile, glued and clamped into one solid block with the cavity machined through it, then reinforced with dowels at the high-stress points. There are no panel joints in the airflow path and no seams along the internal walls, which is what keeps a small cabinet rigid when a capable driver leans on it. It is a more involved build than panel-and-joint construction, and the two-year limited warranty follows the construction.
Every Micro cabinet is sealed. A ported alignment needs far more internal volume than a shallow space can offer, so a ported build in this size belongs in the Performance or Performance Optimized series instead. Each ships with polyfill sized to its volume and with rubber feet, so it runs upright or down-firing without modification, and the exterior is plush black carpet only. The line covers 10", 12" and 15" drivers in single and dual configurations; on the duals the listing states whether the chambers are common or isolated.
Shallow is a solution to a space constraint, not an upgrade. A shallow driver in a reduced cabinet will not match a standard driver in a standard box for output at the same price. If the depth exists, spend the money on the standard build. If it does not, this is the series that makes the install possible.
