This enclosure holds 0.80 cu ft net per chamber. In it the Prodigy Audio NB3-10 runs a system Qtc of 0.52 with half power at 68.3 Hz, and the cone reaches its 11.0 mm travel limit at 339 W, below the driver’s 600 W thermal rating, so travel is what stops you here, not heat. Run a subsonic filter at 25 Hz and that becomes 577 W — +238 W, or 70 percent more power for the same 11.0 mm of travel.

01Is it a sealed driver?

Efficiency bandwidth product places the motor before anything else is decided.

At 73.5 the NB3-10 sits in the transition band, not the sealed band. That is not a mismatch: a transition motor works in either alignment, and sealed buys a smaller box and a gentler roll-off at the cost of some low-end output. Stage 02 shows what this airspace actually does with it.

The box lifts resonance from 36.4 Hz free-air to 47 Hz and half power lands at 68.3 Hz, anechoic, before any cabin gain.

03The watts that reach Xmax (in this enclosure)

Travel scales with the square root of power, so there is one wattage that puts the cone exactly on 11.0 mm — and a bigger one once a subsonic filter stops it wasting travel below the passband.

Every trace touches the limit and no further, because each is drawn at the exact power that puts that coil on 11.0 mm. Unfiltered that is 339 W, reached first at 20 Hz. It sits under the 600 W the driver can take thermally, so the enclosure sets the ceiling, not the voice coil. The dashed traces are the same driver behind a subsonic filter at 25 Hz, 24 dB/oct: stopping the cone wasting travel below the passband lets it take 577 W before hitting the same 11.0 mm. That is 70 percent more amplifier for the price of one filter setting.

Installer's take

The NB3 is a D4 only driver, so there is no coil choice to make here. It wires in parallel to 2 ohms and needs 3.0 inches of mounting depth against a 9.125 inch cutout.

One thing worth saying plainly: we are not publishing a predicted response curve for this combination. Prodigy's published parameters do not reconcile against each other. The stated Fs of 36.4 Hz does not agree with the Mms and Cms on the same sheet, which imply closer to 47 Hz, and the published Vas of 14.43 litres is small for a ten inch cone of this area. We would rather show you nothing than show you a curve built on numbers we cannot stand behind. If Prodigy issues a corrected sheet we will publish the alignment.

None of that changes the cabinet. It is 0.80 cubic feet net, stack fabricated from Langboard Elite three quarter inch MDF with 8/32 threaded inserts on the back of the baffle, so the driver mounts on machine screws rather than into bare MDF.

What subwoofer is in this enclosure?

This enclosure ships loaded with the Prodigy Audio NB3 subwoofer in a Proline X sealed 10-inch box, pre-wired and ready to mount and connect.

Is it ready to install?

Yes. It is CNC-cut from Langboard Elite MDF at our Tennessee facility with the sub set and pre-wired, so you mount it and connect your amplifier.

What warranty does it carry?

The Proline X enclosure carries a 2-year warranty and the subwoofer its manufacturer warranty, with lifetime install support from Audio Intensity.

Can I order this without the NB3-10d4 installed?

Yes. Order it bare and mount your own, or order it loaded and we mount the driver, dress the wiring and ship it ready to bolt in.

What impedance does it ship wired to?

Voice coils wired in parallel. Tell us at checkout if you need it wired differently.

How is this enclosure built?

It is stack fabricated on ShopSabre CNC routers from Langboard Elite three quarter inch MDF. Each layer is a precision cut ring and the stacked layers do the joining, so there is no butt joint or dado to flex or leak. Dowel reinforcement runs between layers as tension hardware only and does not reduce the airspace.

What amplifier should I run?

Target 450 to 600 watts RMS total. Voice coils wired in parallel. A clean Class D monoblock in that range is the correct match.

What warranty and shipping come with this enclosure?

The enclosure carries a 2 year limited warranty and ships free to the lower 48 states. Every enclosure is built one at a time in Tullahoma, Tennessee.
