This enclosure holds 0.60 cu ft net per chamber. In it the Alpine RS-W10D2 runs a system Qtc of 1.41–1.83 with half power at 31.6–32.5 Hz, and the cone reaches its 20.0 mm travel limit at 887 W, above the driver’s 600 W thermal rating, so heat stops you before travel does. A 25 Hz subsonic filter adds little here: 896 W against 887 W, 1 percent. The box already resonates at 45–48 Hz, so its own rolloff has removed most of what the filter would have stopped.

01Is it a sealed driver?

Efficiency bandwidth product places the motor before anything else is decided.

EBP = Fs ÷ Qes = 18.7–27.0
SEALED 0–50 TRANSITION 50–100 PORTED 100–150 0 50 100 150 D2 27.0 D4 18.7
D2 · EBP 27.0D4 · EBP 18.7
EBP under 50 means a motor that wants a sealed load. The RS-W10D2 sits at 18.7–27.0, inside that band, which is why this is a sealed build rather than a ported one.

02What the box does to it

0.60 cu ft against a 20.6 L Vas.

α = Vas ÷ Vb = 1.21  ·  Fc = Fs√(α+1) = 45–48 Hz  ·  Qtc = 1.41–1.83
20 30 50 70 100 150 200 +6 +0 -6 -12 -18 -24 FREQUENCY · Hz LEVEL · dB −3 dB
D2 · Qtc 1.41, Fc 45 Hz, F3 31.6 HzD4 · Qtc 1.83, Fc 48 Hz, F3 32.5 Hz
The box lifts resonance from 30.0 Hz free-air to 45–48 Hz and half power lands at 31.6–32.5 Hz, anechoic, before any cabin gain. This system is offered in both coil variants, so both are plotted. They do not load the same box the same way.

03The watts that reach Xmax (in this enclosure)

Travel scales with the square root of power, so there is one wattage that puts the cone exactly on 20.0 mm, and in this alignment a subsonic filter barely moves it.

PXmax = 887–898 W unfiltered  →  896–924 W with a 25 Hz subsonic
20 30 50 70 100 150 200 0 8 16 24 FREQUENCY · Hz CONE TRAVEL · mm PAST LINEAR TRAVEL · Xmax 20.0 mm 887 W reaches Xmax here
D2 · 898 W, no filterD4 · 887 W, no filterD2 · 924 W with subsonic at 25 Hz, 24 dB/octD4 · 896 W with subsonic at 25 Hz, 24 dB/octXmax 20.0 mm one-way
Every trace touches the limit and no further, because each is drawn at the exact power that puts that coil on 20.0 mm. Unfiltered that is 887 W, reached first at 44 Hz. It sits above the 600 W the driver can take thermally, so the voice coil gives up before the suspension does. The dashed traces are the same driver behind a subsonic filter at 25 Hz, 24 dB/oct, and they sit almost on top of the solid ones: 896 W against 887 W. At 45–48 Hz the filter sits well below resonance, where the sealed alignment has already rolled the cone off at 12 dB/oct, so there is little wasted travel left for it to recover. Set it anyway to keep road rumble out of the cone, but do not size the amplifier around it.

Installer's take

Confirm the year before you order. This is the 2024 to 2026 cabinet, and it fits the F-150, F-250 and F-350 from those years. The 2015 to 2023 F-150 and 2017 to 2023 F-250 use a different shell and the two are not interchangeable, which is the single most common ordering mistake on this platform.

Know what this alignment is before you buy it. Alpine publishes a Qts of 1.19 for the RS-W10D4, and in 0.60 cubic feet that lands at a system Qtc of 1.83 with an F3 of 32.5 Hz. That is a warm, high Q alignment with a rise around system resonance, not a flat one. Alpine's own sealed recommendation runs 0.45 to 1.0 cubic feet and the figure stays above 1.6 across that whole range, so this is the character of the driver rather than a choice we made for it.

In a truck that is not automatically wrong. Cab gain below 80 Hz is stronger than in almost any other vehicle, and a lot of people like the result on a daily driver. If you want it flatter, a few dB of cut around 50 Hz on the processor gets you most of the way there.

The driver needs 3.25 inches of mounting depth and this cabinet accepts up to 3.5. It is a dual 4 ohm coil wired in parallel to 2 ohms, rated 600 watts RMS.

Factory Subwoofer Block-Off Plate

Seals Off the Factory Subwoofer Port to the Exterior

The factory subwoofer block-off plate is designed to seal the OEM subwoofer port, which vents outside the truck. Without sealing this opening, air can escape, reducing the efficiency of the new subwoofer enclosure. The block-off plate prevents unwanted air leaks, allowing for better bass response and increased sound pressure inside the cabin. This ensures that all low-frequency energy remains in the truck, optimizing overall performance.

Prevents Road Noise and Unwanted Airflow

Leaving the factory subwoofer port open can introduce road noise and allow external air to enter the cabin. This can negatively impact both audio quality and overall driving comfort. The block-off plate eliminates this issue by sealing the opening, reducing unwanted external noise. This results in a quieter, more controlled listening environment with deeper, more accurate bass.

Durable and Secure Fit for Long-Term Use

The block-off plate is constructed from high-quality materials to ensure a secure and lasting seal. It installs cleanly over the OEM port without requiring permanent modifications. The tight fit prevents vibrations or movement over time, maintaining a solid acoustic barrier. This helps keep bass frequencies inside the truck while preserving the vehicle’s original structure.

Easy and Secure Wiring Access

The enclosure features a front-mounted terminal cup for convenient subwoofer wiring. This placement allows for simple and clean cable management, reducing installation time. The front-facing design ensures that connections remain accessible without requiring modifications. The result is a secure, professional wiring setup that enhances functionality and sound quality.

Heavy-Duty Stainless Steel Hardware

Unlike standard push terminals, this enclosure uses stainless steel 1/4-20 hardware for an extremely solid and reliable connection. This hardware ensures a tight, vibration-resistant fit, preventing signal loss or loose connections over time. The durable stainless steel components resist corrosion, maintaining consistent electrical conductivity. This provides a long-lasting, high-quality solution for securing subwoofer leads.

Pre-wired with 12-gauge Speaker Wire

The enclosure comes pre-wired with a 12-gauge OFC speaker wire for maximum convenience. This heavy-duty wiring is designed to handle high power loads while minimizing resistance and signal degradation. The thick gauge wire supports better current flow, allowing for cleaner and more efficient bass performance. This eliminates the need for additional wiring, ensuring a hassle-free installation process.
