This enclosure holds 0.60 cu ft net per chamber. In it the Kicker CompRT 10 (48CWRT102) runs a system Qtc of 0.85–1.00 with half power at 41.2–43.2 Hz, and the cone reaches its 13.35 mm travel limit at 343 W, below the driver’s 400 W thermal rating, so travel is what stops you here, not heat. Run a subsonic filter at 25 Hz and that becomes 377 W — +34 W, or 10 percent more power for the same 13.35 mm of travel.

01Is it a sealed driver?

Efficiency bandwidth product places the motor before anything else is decided.

EBP = Fs ÷ Qes = 48.7–56.8
SEALED 0–50 TRANSITION 50–100 PORTED 100–150 0 50 100 150 D2 56.8 D4 48.7
D2 · EBP 56.8D4 · EBP 48.7
The CompRT 10 (48CWRT102) straddles the boundary at 48.7–56.8 depending on coil — part sealed-band, part transition. Either way it takes a sealed load happily; the coil you run shifts the alignment more than it shifts this verdict.

02What the box does to it

0.60 cu ft against a 35.4 L Vas.

α = Vas ÷ Vb = 2.08  ·  Fc = Fs√(α+1) = 50–52 Hz  ·  Qtc = 0.85–1.00
20 30 50 70 100 150 200 +6 +0 -6 -12 -18 -24 FREQUENCY · Hz LEVEL · dB −3 dB
D2 · Qtc 0.85, Fc 50 Hz, F3 43.2 HzD4 · Qtc 1.00, Fc 52 Hz, F3 41.2 Hz
The box lifts resonance from 28.7 Hz free-air to 50–52 Hz and half power lands at 41.2–43.2 Hz, anechoic, before any cabin gain. This system is offered in both coil variants, so both are plotted. They do not load the same box the same way.

03The watts that reach Xmax (in this enclosure)

Travel scales with the square root of power, so there is one wattage that puts the cone exactly on 13.35 mm — and a bigger one once a subsonic filter stops it wasting travel below the passband.

PXmax = 343–391 W unfiltered  →  377–404 W with a 25 Hz subsonic
20 30 50 70 100 150 200 0 4 8 12 16 FREQUENCY · Hz CONE TRAVEL · mm PAST LINEAR TRAVEL · Xmax 13.35 mm 343 W reaches Xmax here
D2 · 343 W, no filterD4 · 391 W, no filterD2 · 377 W with subsonic at 25 Hz, 24 dB/octD4 · 404 W with subsonic at 25 Hz, 24 dB/octXmax 13.35 mm one-way
Every trace touches the limit and no further, because each is drawn at the exact power that puts that coil on 13.35 mm. Unfiltered that is 343 W, reached first at 28 Hz. It sits under the 400 W the driver can take thermally, so the enclosure sets the ceiling, not the voice coil. The dashed traces are the same driver behind a subsonic filter at 25 Hz, 24 dB/oct: stopping the cone wasting travel below the passband lets it take 377 W before hitting the same 13.35 mm. That is 10 percent more amplifier for the price of one filter setting.

Installer's take

Confirm the year before ordering. This is the 2024 to 2026 F-150 box. The 2015 to 2023 F-150 and F-250 use a different enclosure and the two do not interchange. It is the most common ordering mistake across this line and it costs return shipping both ways.

Plan the amplifier location before you set the box. The enclosure fills the behind seat space by design, which is where most people were intending to put the amp. A compact Class D monoblock will usually go under a front seat or against the rear wall beside the enclosure. Decide first rather than discovering it with the box already seated.

Route and test power and signal before final placement. Once the enclosure is in behind the seat, lifting it back out to fish a wire is not a two minute job.

Factory Subwoofer Block-Off Plate

Factory Subwoofer Block-Off Plate

Seals Off the Factory Subwoofer Port to the Exterior

The factory subwoofer block-off plate is designed to seal the OEM subwoofer port, which vents outside the truck. Without sealing this opening, air can escape, reducing the efficiency of the new subwoofer enclosure. The block-off plate prevents unwanted air leaks, allowing for better bass response and increased sound pressure inside the cabin.
