Modelled response
Performance in this enclosure
01Is it a sealed driver?
Efficiency bandwidth product places the motor before anything else is decided.
02What the box does to it
0.606 cu ft against a 30.0 L Vas.
03The watts that reach Xmax (in this enclosure)
Travel scales with the square root of power, so there is one wattage that puts the cone exactly on 17.6 mm — and a bigger one once a subsonic filter stops it wasting travel below the passband.
| Param | Value | Unit | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fs | 31.00 / 32.00 | Hz | free-air resonance |
| Qts | 0.510 / 0.500 | D2 / D4 | |
| Vas | 30.00 / 29.00 | L | equivalent compliance |
| Sd | 346.3 | cm² | effective piston area |
| Xmax | 17.6 | mm | one-way linear travel, D2 coil. The D4 coil is rated 19 mm on the same cone; the smaller figure is plotted so the power shown is conservative for both. |
| Pe | 500 | W | continuous RMS |
| SPL | 84.0 | dB | 1 W / 1 m, derived from T/S |

Installer's take
This is the dual GB10 cabinet for a space that is 12 inches deep instead of 15. Same airspace per driver as the standard 30 x 15, turned sideways: 41 long, 8.5 tall.
Each chamber is 0.606 cubic feet net, Audiofrog's own 17 liter recommendation, and theirs is a net figure like ours. The motor needs well under the cabinet height, 1.49 inches clear above it, so airspace set the height, not clearance.
Per coil, from Audiofrog's own separate parameter sets: GB10D2: Qtc 0.846, Fc 51.4 Hz, F3 44.3 Hz. GB10D4: Qtc 0.820, Fc 52.5 Hz, F3 46.2 Hz. Moderately damped, which is how Audiofrog voices this driver.
Read the impedance section before you mount anything. The switch faces the motor, the cup wires both positions in parallel, and both switches go HIGH. Low on a D2 pair is 0.5 ohms.
Floor slot at the 1.75 inch feet is 0.95 of the cone area, same as every 10 inch down fire. Measure 12 inches of depth and 41 of run before you order.

Questions
Why is this cabinet 41 inches wide instead of 30?
Because it is only 12 inches deep. The standard Performance Optimized Down Fire platform is 30 wide by 15 deep, and this application needs a cabinet that fits a space three inches shallower than that.
The airspace has to come from somewhere, so the cabinet runs 41 inches long instead of 30 and stands 8.5 inches tall, with each driver still in its own chamber. If you have 15 inches of depth, the standard cabinet is the pick; if your space is long and shallow, under a rear bench or on a narrow cargo floor, this is the shape that fits.
How does this compare to the standard 30 x 15 dual Audiofrog GB10 enclosure?
The standard cabinet is 30 x 15 x 9.06 inches and gives each driver 0.60 cubic feet net. This cabinet is 41 x 12 x 8.5 and gives each driver 0.606 cubic feet net, within 0.006 cubic feet of the standard box. Acoustically they are effectively the same enclosure. The choice is about shape: the standard box needs 15 inches of depth, this one needs 12 inches of depth and 41 inches of run.
What alignment does this cabinet give, and what is the low-frequency extension?
The chambers hold Audiofrog's own recommended sealed volume, 17 liters net per driver. At 0.606 cubic feet net per chamber: GB10D2: Qtc 0.846, Fc 51.4 Hz, F3 44.3 Hz. GB10D4: Qtc 0.820, Fc 52.5 Hz, F3 46.2 Hz. Audiofrog publishes separate parameters for each coil version, so both are listed.
Those are anechoic figures. Firing into the floor, the sealed rolloff meets rising cabin gain, so in-car response runs deeper than the numbers above.
What amplifier power should I run, and what impedance?
The GB10 is rated 500 watts RMS each, 1000 across the pair. The GB series does not bring its coils out to the terminals: each driver has an impedance switch, and the cup wires the two positions in parallel, so the switch decides what the amplifier sees.
Set both drivers to HIGH. A D2 pair then presents 2 ohms and a D4 pair 4 ohms; both LOW on a D2 pair is 0.5 ohms, which almost no amplifier is stable into. Set the switches before mounting, because the switch faces the motor, and aim for roughly 700 to 1000 watts at the impedance you select.
Where is the terminal cup located on a down fire enclosure?
Side mounted, and there is one cup serving both chambers rather than one per chamber. Every Proline X Performance Optimized enclosure uses a side mounted terminal cup, and on a down fire cabinet that keeps the connection accessible with the enclosure installed, since both baffles face the floor. The cup is our Proline X ABS and carbon fiber composite unit, recessed, with stainless hardware, copper ring terminals, and 12 gauge OFC pre-wired to both driver positions in parallel.
How is this enclosure built?
V-groove and dado joinery, CNC cut on ShopSabre routers from Langboard Elite MDF. Every panel joint is a machined interlocking groove that mechanically locks the panels before adhesive is applied, which keeps both chambers airtight under sustained pressure cycling. Corners are square, the Down Fire series standard, with no radii.
The front baffle is a double layer at 1.5 inches, with the outer layer machined as a flush recess so each driver bolts to the inner layer. A full-height bonded 3/4 inch divider separates the chambers and ties the front and rear walls together across the 41 inch span. 8/32 threaded inserts and stainless machine screws are fitted at both positions. Polyfill is installed as a light wall lining. Assembled and inspected in Tullahoma, Tennessee.
Do I need to add polyfill or damping?
No. Polyfill is already installed in both chambers as a light wall lining, and the quantity is chosen so it does not change the acoustic volume. Do not add more: packing a sealed box with fill makes it behave as though it were larger, which walks the alignment away from the 0.606 cubic feet per chamber this cabinet was built to.
Are the drivers included?
No. This is an enclosure only. You receive the cabinet finished in plush black carpet, with threaded inserts at both driver positions, stainless machine screws, one side-mounted pre-wired terminal cup, the 1.75 inch feet uninstalled and the polyfill lining in place. Bring your own pair of Audiofrog GB10, two of the same coil version.
