Performance in this enclosure
01Is it a sealed driver?
Efficiency bandwidth product places the motor before anything else is decided.
02What the box does to it
0.625 cu ft against a 36.7 L Vas.
03The watts that reach Xmax (in this enclosure)
Travel scales with the square root of power, so there is one wattage that puts the cone exactly on 14.2 mm — and a bigger one once a subsonic filter stops it wasting travel below the passband.
| Param | Value | Unit | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fs | 30.35 / 29.70 | Hz | free-air resonance |
| Qts | 0.419 / 0.559 | D2 / D4 | |
| Vas | 36.73 / 43.51 | L | equivalent compliance |
| Sd | 432.6 / 453.7 | cm² | effective piston area |
| Xmax | 14.2 | mm | one-way linear travel |
| Pe | 500 | W | continuous RMS |
| SPL | 85.5 | dB | 1 W / 1 m, derived from T/S |

From the shop floor
Installer's take
432.64 square centimetres of cone in a 10 inch footprint, now in a cabinet 12 inches deep and 5.25 tall.
Height is set by the driver, not by a volume target. The 3 3/4 inch mounting depth needs 0.75 inch above the motor, and at that height the wide footprint holds 0.625 cubic feet net, a little more than the 0.60 in the standard box. More air lowers Qtc, the safe direction.
Two alignments, because the coil versions are not the same driver: Dual 2-Ohm: Qtc 0.736, Fc 53.2 Hz, F3 51.2 Hz. Dual 4-Ohm: Qtc 1.039, Fc 55.2 Hz, F3 42.7 Hz. The Dual 2-Ohm is the controlled one; the Dual 4-Ohm has lift near the corner.
Kicker does not publish displacement anywhere. The 0.07 cubic feet in our net figure is our estimate and labeled that way.
Cut the baffle square. The corners of an L7T cone are the reason it works, and a round hole leaves them unsupported.

Questions
Why is this cabinet 41 inches wide instead of 30?
Because it is only 12 inches deep. The standard Performance Optimized Down Fire platform is 30 wide by 15 deep, and this application needs a cabinet that fits a space three inches shallower than that.
The airspace has to come from somewhere, so the cabinet runs 41 inches long instead of 30 and stands 5.25 inches tall. If you have 15 inches of depth, the standard cabinet is the pick; if your space is long and shallow, under a rear bench or on a narrow cargo floor, this is the shape that fits.
How does this compare to the standard 30 x 15 Kicker L7T enclosure?
The standard cabinet is 30 x 15 x 5.375 inches and holds 0.60 cubic feet net. This cabinet is 41 x 12 x 5.25 and holds 0.625 cubic feet net, 0.025 cubic feet more, because its height is set by the L7T's mounting depth rather than by a volume target. More air means a lower, more damped Qtc, which is the safe direction. The choice is about shape: the standard box needs 15 inches of depth, this one needs 12 inches of depth and 41 inches of run.
What alignment does this cabinet give, and what is the low-frequency extension?
The cabinet height is set by the L7T's 3 3/4 inch mounting depth, and Kicker publishes separate Klippel data for each coil version. At 0.625 cubic feet net: Dual 2-Ohm: Qtc 0.736, Fc 53.2 Hz, F3 51.2 Hz. Dual 4-Ohm: Qtc 1.039, Fc 55.2 Hz, F3 42.7 Hz. The Dual 4-Ohm's higher Qts gives a peaked alignment in the same box.
Those are anechoic figures. Firing into the floor, the sealed rolloff meets rising cabin gain, so in-car response runs deeper than the numbers above.
How much power should I run to the L7T 10?
Kicker recommends 500 watts RMS of amplifier power, with a peak rating of 1000 watts measured per ANSI/CTA-2031-A. Sensitivity is 85.98 dB published and 85.645 dB in Kicker's own Klippel measurement, so treat mid 85 as the working number.
Both versions are dual voice coil, so final impedance is set at the driver. A clean 500 watts is worth more than a larger amplifier driven into clipping.
Where does the driver displacement figure come from?
From us, and we would rather say so than let it look like a manufacturer number. Kicker does not publish a displacement figure for the L7T on the product page, in the Thiele-Small set or on the dimension drawing. The 0.07 cubic feet used in the net volume is our estimate from the square cutout and the 3 3/4 inch mounting depth.
Where is the terminal cup located on a down fire enclosure?
Side mounted. Every Proline X Performance Optimized enclosure uses a side mounted terminal cup, and on a down fire cabinet that keeps the connection accessible with the enclosure installed, since the baffle faces the floor. The cup is our Proline X ABS and carbon fiber composite unit, recessed, with stainless hardware, copper ring terminals, and pre-wired 12 gauge OFC.
How is this enclosure built?
V-groove and dado joinery, CNC cut on ShopSabre routers from Langboard Elite MDF. Every panel joint is a machined interlocking groove that mechanically locks the panels before adhesive is applied, which keeps the cabinet airtight under sustained pressure cycling. Corners are square, the Down Fire series standard, with no radii.
The front baffle is a double layer at 1.5 inches, with the outer layer machined as a flush recess so the driver bolts to the inner layer. A windowed U-brace ties the long panels together across the 41 inch span. The opening is cut square to Kicker's published template. Polyfill is installed as a light wall lining. Assembled and inspected in Tullahoma, Tennessee.
Is the Kicker L7T 10 subwoofer included with this enclosure?
No. This listing is for the enclosure only. Bring your own Kicker Solo-Baric L7T 10 in either coil version, 46L7T102 or 46L7T104. The square cutout and mounting depth are cut specifically for this driver.
