Performance in this enclosure
What this cabinet is built from
The cabinet is designed from Arc Audio’s figures taken as printed. This enclosure gives the ARC 10 1.053 cubic feet net; its system Q and half-power frequency are on the Specifications tab. If Arc Audio publishes a corrected parameter set, or the driver is measured, the graphs will be modeled and added here.

Installer's take
Credit where it is due: Arc's recommended sealed volume for this driver is a well chosen number. The problem is the same one we had on the standard box. The ARC 10 mounts 5.5 inches deep, and the driver is taller than the cabinet that volume would make.
So on the wide box, height is set by the motor. 0.75 inch of clearance above it puts the cabinet at 7 inches, and on a 41 by 12 footprint that holds 1.111 gross and 1.053 net. That is more air than the standard 30 by 15 ARC 10 box was built to, not a target we chased. More air lowers Qtc, which is the direction you want an error to go.
Result on the Dual 2-Ohm: Qtc 0.621, Fc 37.9 Hz, F3 43.9 Hz. A damped alignment with a gentle corner and low group delay, which suits a down fire box feeding into cabin gain.
On the driver: 23.8 Hz Fs and 0.390 Qts on the D2 are strong numbers, and 16mm of one way excursion on a 250 watt driver is generous. Note the rating carefully. 250 RMS with 500 musical is honest rather than inflated, and Arc's manual says plainly that running past RMS continuously burns coils. Do not feed this like a 500 watt driver.
Headline figures are the Dual 2-Ohm. The Dual 4-Ohm runs Fs 23.5 Hz, Qts 0.407 and Vas 48.37 L per Arc's manual, and in this box lands at Qtc 0.659, Fc 38.0 Hz, F3 41.0 Hz.

Questions
Why is this cabinet 41 inches wide instead of 30?
Because it is only 12 inches deep. The standard Performance Optimized Down Fire cabinet for the ARC Audio ARC 10 is 30 wide by 15 deep, and this version is for spaces 3 inches shallower than that, under a rear bench or on a narrow cargo floor.
Airspace has to come from somewhere. Losing depth means recovering it along the length, so the cabinet runs 41 inches long and stands 7 inches tall. If you have 15 inches of depth, the standard cabinet is shorter in length and is the better pick; if you have 12 inches of depth and 41 inches of run, this is the shape that works.
How does this compare to the standard 30 x 15 ARC Audio ARC 10 enclosure?
Same driver, different shape. The standard cabinet is 30 by 15 by 7.125 inches and was built to 1.00 cubic feet net. This cabinet is 41 by 12 by 7 inches and holds 1.053 cubic feet net.
The wide cabinet holds a little more air because its height is set by the ARC 10's 5.5 inch mounting depth rather than by a volume target. Both boxes are motor limited; the choice between them is the space you have. The standard box is deeper and shorter, this one is long and shallow.
Why is this enclosure larger than Arc Audio's recommended volume?
Because the driver is physically taller than the box Arc's volume produces. The ARC 10 mounts 5.5 inches deep, and the cabinet needs 0.75 inch of clearance above the motor, which sets the height at 7 inches.
At that height the 41 by 12 footprint holds 1.111 cubic feet gross and 1.053 net. The resulting alignment is Qtc 0.621 with F3 at 43.9 Hz on the Dual 2-Ohm, more damped than Arc's figure would give. Extra air lowers Qtc, which is the safe direction.
Are Arc Audio's published enclosure volumes gross or net?
Gross. Arc Audio labels every recommended enclosure volume in their manual as gross, for both sealed and ported designs, which is a less common convention than net and worth understanding before you compare their numbers to anyone else's.
Gross volume is the raw internal airspace before the driver and bracing are subtracted. Arc publishes the ARC 10's displacement at 0.05 cubic feet. Every volume we quote on this page is stated explicitly as gross or net, 1.111 gross and 1.053 net, so the two cannot be confused.
How much power should I run to the ARC 10?
Arc Audio rates the ARC 10 at 250 watts RMS continuous with 500 watts musical, and lists an amplifier power range of 5 to 500 watts. The RMS figure is the recommended continuous power; the driver handles roughly twice that in short bursts, and sustained operation above the RMS rating will burn the voice coil and is not covered under warranty.
Arc also notes that underpowering is not what kills subwoofers, clipping is. A modest amplifier driven cleanly is safer than a large one driven into distortion. Both versions are dual voice coil, so set the final load at the driver.
Where is the terminal cup located on a down fire enclosure?
Side mounted. Every Proline X Performance Optimized enclosure uses a side mounted terminal cup regardless of alignment, whether standard, wedge, or down fire. On this cabinet that keeps the connection fully accessible with the enclosure in its installed position, since the baffle faces the floor. The cup is our Proline X ABS and carbon fiber composite unit, recessed, with stainless hardware, copper ring terminals, and pre-wired 12 gauge OFC.
How is this enclosure built?
V-groove and dado joinery, CNC-cut on ShopSabre routers from Langboard Elite MDF. Every panel joint is a machined interlocking groove that mechanically locks the panels before adhesive is applied, which keeps the cabinet airtight under sustained pressure cycling. A windowed U-brace, dadoed to the shell, ties the long walls together across the 41 inch span. The front baffle is a double layer at 1.5 inches, two bonded 3/4 inch sheets with the outer layer machined as a flush recess. Polyfill is installed as a light wall lining. Assembled and inspected in Tullahoma, Tennessee.
Is the ARC 10 subwoofer included with this enclosure?
No. This listing is for the enclosure only. Bring your own ARC Audio ARC 10 in either coil configuration. The cutout and mounting depth are cut specifically for this driver, and the alignment figures are given for both the Dual 2-Ohm and the Dual 4-Ohm.
