This enclosure holds 1.21 cu ft net per chamber. In it the MOJO Pro 15 runs a system Qtc of 1.20 with half power at 42.4 Hz, and the cone reaches its 12.95 mm travel limit at 949 W, above the driver’s 750 W thermal rating, so heat stops you before travel does. A 25 Hz subsonic filter adds little here: 956 W against 949 W, 1 percent. The box already resonates at 58 Hz, so its own rolloff has removed most of what the filter would have stopped.

01Is it a sealed driver?

Efficiency bandwidth product places the motor before anything else is decided.

EBP = Fs ÷ Qes = 42.9
SEALED 0–50 TRANSITION 50–100 PORTED 100–150 0 50 100 150 MJP1544 (D4) 42.9
MJP1544 (D4) · EBP 42.9
EBP under 50 means a motor that wants a sealed load. The Memphis Audio MOJO Pro 15 sits at 42.9, inside that band, which is why this is a sealed build rather than a ported one.

02What the box does to it

1.21 cu ft against a 83.0 L Vas.

α = Vas ÷ Vb = 2.42  ·  Fc = Fs√(α+1) = 58 Hz  ·  Qtc = 1.20

MJP1544 (D4) · Qtc 1.20, Fc 58 Hz, F3 42.4 Hz
The box lifts resonance from 31.2 Hz free-air to 58 Hz and half power lands at 42.4 Hz, anechoic, before any cabin gain.

03The watts that reach Xmax (in this enclosure)

Travel scales with the square root of power, so there is one wattage that puts the cone exactly on 12.95 mm, and in this alignment a subsonic filter barely moves it.

PXmax = 949 W unfiltered  →  956 W with a 25 Hz subsonic
20 30 50 70 100 150 200 0 4 8 12 16 FREQUENCY · Hz CONE TRAVEL · mm PAST LINEAR TRAVEL · Xmax 12.95 mm 949 W reaches Xmax here
MJP1544 (D4) · 949 W, no filterMJP1544 (D4) · 956 W with subsonic at 25 Hz, 24 dB/octXmax 12.95 mm one-way
Every trace touches the limit and no further, because each is drawn at the exact power that puts that coil on 12.95 mm. Unfiltered that is 949 W, reached first at 47 Hz. It sits above the 750 W the driver can take thermally, so the voice coil gives up before the suspension does. The dashed traces are the same driver behind a subsonic filter at 25 Hz, 24 dB/oct, and they sit almost on top of the solid ones: 956 W against 949 W. At 58 Hz the filter sits well below resonance, where the sealed alignment has already rolled the cone off at 12 dB/oct, so there is little wasted travel left for it to recover. Set it anyway to keep road rumble out of the cone, but do not size the amplifier around it.

Installer's take

I rebuilt this cabinet to the 3.0 cubic feet gross Memphis's 2024 MOJO Pro sheet prints for a sealed pair, which leaves each driver 1.21 net in its own chamber. Qtc lands at 1.20 with F3 at 42.4 Hz anechoic and a 2.4 dB lift near 71 Hz. That is a punchy, compact alignment, and cabin gain fills in the bottom.

Heat is the limit in this box, not travel. The chamber is stiff enough that the cone would not reach its 0.51 inch Xmax until about 949 watts, so the 750 watt rating per driver is your ceiling.

Memphis publishes no bolt circle for the MOJO Pro 15, so the baffle comes undrilled with the insert kit. Set each woofer in its cutout, let its own flange mark the holes, drill 13/64 and press the hurricane nuts in from behind before the driver goes in for good.

It is 36 inches wide and 55 pounds before the woofers. Measure the trunk floor for the 15.87 inch base depth, then anchor it properly.

Questions

Does it fit both the MJP1544 and the MJP1522?

Yes. Both coil versions of the MOJO Pro 15 share the 13.84 inch cutout, the 15.90 inch frame and the 7.88 inch mounting depth, and the motor clears the raked back panel by 1.33 inches at the tightest point. Buy a matched pair, same model and same coil. The alignment on this page is computed from the MJP1544's published figures; the MJP1522 column on Memphis's sheet lists a Vas its shared cone and suspension cannot produce, so we publish no Qtc for it.

Why 1.21 cubic feet per driver, and what does Qtc 1.20 mean?

Memphis's 2024 MOJO Pro sheet prints 3.0 cubic feet gross for a sealed pair, and this cabinet holds 3.00: 1.50 per chamber, 1.21 net after each driver's 0.29 cubic feet of displacement. With the MJP1544's Qts of 0.650 that gives Qtc 1.202, fc 57.7 Hz and F3 42.4 Hz, a 2.4 dB peak near 71 Hz. It is a compact, punchy alignment; 2.50 cubic feet per driver would bring Qtc to 0.96 in a box twice the size.

Memphis's product page links a sheet that says 5.0 cubic feet for a pair. Why is this smaller?

Memphis has published two MOJO Pro sheets. The 2022 sheet, still linked from the MJP1544 product page, prints 2.6 cubic feet gross for one driver sealed and 5.0 for a pair, and that same enclosure block appears word for word on Memphis's M7 and MOJO 15 sheets, which are different drivers. The 2024 MOJO Pro sheet revises the sealed figures to 1.5 and 3.0, and this cabinet is built to the revision.

What amplifier power and impedance should I use?

Plan on 525 to 750 watts RMS per driver, 1050 to 1500 for the pair. The small chamber holds the cone back hard, so reaching the 0.51 inch Xmax would take 949 watts per driver: heat is the limit here, not travel. Two MJP1544s give 4 ohms with each driver in series and the pair in parallel, or 1 ohm with all four coils in parallel; two MJP1522s give 2 ohms or 0.5 ohm. Many amplifiers are not stable at 1 ohm, so wire MJP1544s for 4 ohms unless the amplifier is rated for 1.

Why a wedge, and why does it fire rearward?

The back panel is raked 20 degrees to lie against a factory rear seat back, so the cabinet runs 15.87 inches deep at the floor and 9.32 at the top instead of standing square in the trunk. The 18 inch baffle stays vertical and both woofers fire rearward into the trunk cavity, which loads the trunk and reaches the cabin through the seat and deck.

Why two chambers and two terminal cups?

A full 0.75 inch divider gives each driver its own sealed 1.50 cubic feet gross, so one cone's motion never changes the air load the other driver sees. Each chamber has a side-mounted Proline X terminal cup pre-wired with 12 gauge OFC to its own driver, so there is no cross-chamber wiring and the pair can run a monoblock per driver or share one amplifier.

How low does it play, and do I need a subsonic filter?

Anechoic F3 is 42.4 Hz per driver, falling at 12 dB per octave below it, and cabin gain in most vehicles adds real output under 40 Hz. A 25 Hz subsonic filter barely changes excursion here, 949 to 956 watts at Xmax, because the small sealed box already controls the cone below 57.7 Hz. Set one to keep road rumble out of the cones.

Is the driver included, and what comes in the box?

No. This is an enclosure only: the cabinet in plush black carpet, two pre-wired terminal cups, a light polyfill lining that does not change the acoustic volume, and a threaded insert kit for each driver. The threaded insert kit ships in the box for each driver position: inserts, machine screws, a screw key and the drill bit. Set the woofer in its cutout with the supplied screws so the driver locates its own pattern, lift it out, drill those holes to 13/64 inch and press the hurricane nuts in from the back of the baffle.
